From 1933..

Prosper City is being taken over by the Green Bell. factories are
forced to close, and people live in fear of the Green Bell, who
announces his evil with a tolling bell over the radio and black robes
with Green Bells on the front.

DOC is framed for murder fairly early on in the game, and has to hide
out. He announces his own economic recorvery plan for Prosper City,
and it's pretty apparent that DOC's study of economics consists of
unloading the gold from the mule train. But luckily the Green Bell
hasn't done much cost-benefit analysis for his schemes, because he's
got all these henchmen on the payroll and vast schemes at work so he
can take over... some cotton mills. Wow.

We get lots of red herrings, and plenty of hide-and-seek in the nice
old lady's house. In the end, we get the classic "who would be the
least likely suspect -- why, they're the bad guy!" ending, without
much rhyme or reason to it.

The last five or six chapters were hard to get through on this
reread. I have to rate the CZAR OF FEAR as one of the weakest DOCs of
the first three years.
