Just p[assed the halfway mark in the new DOC. I admire Murray's
ability to channel his "inner Robeson" -- he rarely hits a false note.

The requirements of modern publishing require that he pad out the word
count, but Dent did this quite frequently as well. And Murray's work,
like the chapter where DOC makes a real housecall with his docotor's
bag, usually makes the padding add to the legend.

Finished it. Good stuff. Much of this takes place on the high seas.
It is odd, as much of a sailor as Lester Dent was, how few DOC
adventures take place at sea.

Loved the cover -- neat reimagining of DOC as a pirate king.

Loved the fact that Chemistry and Habeas were left back in New York.
No mention was made of the adsense of Long Tom and Johnny, which I
thought odd.

Having digested this, I get the feeling that the new WILD adventures
of Doc Savage, are like "director's cut" or "behind the scenes
editions -- more than you would normally get
