Would Ron Perlman make a good Doc Savage?

I got my wife the complete BEAUTY AND THE BEAST on DVD for Christmas,
and dutifully watched them with her. Perlman's BEAST is almost the
Anti-DOC -- trained from infancy by his father, but in only the
liberal arts, not sciences. Hangs out far below the surface of NYC,
not high above it. All emotion; goes into rages and kills bad guys.

Perlman -- good diction, can wear make-up and costumes, good for
period work. But I've watched the shot set-ups -- way too short for
DOC

As my mother says, Ron Perlman looks much better in makeup than out of
it. I quite agree. No Ron as Doc.
