Tried again to watch DESTINATION MOON. A George Pal production (he
produced DOC SAVAGE as his final film),based on a heinlein idea
(partial screenplay credit) it is awful in the tradition of old
science fiction movies. Starts out with 15 minutes of men talking to
each other. Probably realizing they were losing the audience, the
film then shifts to a cartoon explaining the physics of travelling
from earth to the moon and back -- a cartoon starring Woody
Woodpecker!
In the final coda of DOC SAVAGE, it's Christmas, and we see DOC smile
as a Boy Scout helps a little old lady across the street. That's the
wife of Woody Woodpecker creator Walter Lantz.
