I don't know why Rich Harvey is reticent to plug his own
pulp show, but somebody ought to do it.

For those of you who don't like getting last-minute
notification about such things, the Spring 2008 edition
of Rich's Pulp Adventurecon will take place next Saturday,
March 29, at the usual location: the Ramada Inn in
Bordentown, New Jersey. The con site is absurdly easy
to find, being on Route 206 just a hundred yards or so
off Exit 7 of the New Jersey Turnpike. This Central NJ
location is an easy drive for people coming from New
York City, Philadelphia, and all points in between.
Although Pulp Adventurecon is a one-day show, people come
from as far south as Virginia, as far north as Connecticut,
and as far west as Ohio.

If you're a fan and/or collector of pulps, digests, paperbacks,
hardcovers, and other paper collectibles, you can have more
fun at Pulp Adventurecon than just about anywhere else of major
conventions such as Pulpcon or the Windy City show. Although
Rich has had special guests, art shows, and film screenings at
his show, Pulp Adventurecon is a fairly low-key affair conducive
to plenty of socializing. It makes for a fun, relaxing day
and offers the opportunity of finding lots of goodies: most of
the major pulp dealers on the East Coast are there, and recent
editions of the show have seen some extremely rare items change
hands.

Even if you're on a budget (as many of us are these days), you
can find plenty of good stuff reasonably priced, including the
latest reprint product from Adventure House, Wildside Press,
Black Dog Books, and others.

I always take a table at Rich's show -- this year I'll have
copies of the recently published BLOOD 'N' THUNDER GUIDE TO
COLLECTING PULPS as well as a brand new issue of BnT -- but I'd
go even if I wasn't a dealer. Especially this time around:
it's been a long, cold winter without much hobby activity, and
with the beginning of convention season still another month away,
I'm eager to shake off my cabin fever to mix and mingle with my
fellow hobbyists. I'm guessing some of you feel the same way.

Who else will be there?

I will have a table, selling my Pulp Image Library CDs, pulps, some GA
Batman comics and such.
