For those of you who have read some of the original DS pulps as well as the Bantam reprints-
are the stories in the reprints verbatim, or has there been some editing done?

The only editing that I am aware of, aside from an unintentional drop of a
line, is cutting out the teaser for the next issue. Since they were
republish in a different order, this sort of made sense. Sometimes they did
leave them in.

Of course I am no expert, just a really long time fan.

But be aware that the current line of reprints uses Dent's manuscripts
in some cases rather than the edited versions that appeared in the magazines.

Either way, as an owner of all the Bantam editions, I am loving
getting these reprints with original art, comments, and editorials! I
do have to chuckle each time I buy one though, I paid 45 cents for
"Man of Bronze" when it first appeared on the newstands... now I'm
paying FOURTEEN TIMES (!!) as much (not inflation adjusted) to re-read
a Doc story I already have! <smile>

I'm doing the same thing. I have the whole run of Bantam (some with
multiple copies), the six hard bound Golden Press, some original pulps,
everything in e-text format and I still buy all the new reprints. And it
might just be me, but I find that they read differently; the new pulp style
reprint series just makes them seem different then when I read them as a
paperback. I do like having the original material when available. Polar
Treasure was a shock when I read what was cut out.
