According to the nfo, this new one was done by the same guy who did
the other one a few years ago, but WOW! This thing was reworked from
head to toe! I was a little skeptical at first (the newsreel was a
little cheesy), but overall... Well, I don't know how this guy did
it, but it's almost a good movie!

Hey, if Slark is interested, would you ask he/she to contact me through
ThePulp.Net? I'd be interested in an interview for a blog post on the
re-edited film.

There's an email form at:
<http://www.thepulp.net/contact/index.php>

Thanks!

First, thanks for posting. That was really interesting.

Yes, the newsreel was a bit cheesy, but I think the concept works. I'd
like to see it done more primarily with stills and footage that's not in
the film anywhere else, since there's no way the newsreel guy would have
access to footage like that, but it still works.

Overall, yes, the fanedit works, and I'm surprised how quickly it goes
by. It does feel more like a made for TV movie than a theatrical now,
probably because the faneditor was forced so many times to fade out and
back in again, which is understandable.

All the most egrigious things are gone. There's stuff I'd love to lose
but can see why technically it's impossible, like that stupid line about
the glass in the windows making it look like everything is 5 feet to the
left ... remind me to always stand on the other side of Doc, willya?
But then you'd lose the nice cut from the elevator to the garage.

There are a couple places I think the faneditor cut TOO deeply. I don't
mind the fake out where you think Doc is going to Hidalgo alone, and I'd
like to see more of the Hidalgo trading company.

*All* the singing is gone! I'm not sure how I feel about that ... I
think I'd have left it over the end credits.

And I'd have found a place for that seldom seen footage of Pamela
Hensley in the silver bikini from the theatrical BUCK ROGERS open, but
maybe that's just me. :D

All in all, kudos!

Hey, that's what we THOUGHT the words were,
first time we saw the movie in the theater . . .
