question about selling Bantam edition from 60s

Hi,

Hope this isn't too mercenary, but I was going through the group
trying to get a handle on the value of the old Bantam paperbacks. I
have a big box of them that I just got out of my parents' attic, where
they've been for decades. Thankfully they are in good shape.

I was going to keep my favorite half dozen or so, but then sell the
rest. Looking on ebay, they only seem to go for two or three bucks
each, except for the double ones which came out after I quit
collecting.

Anyway, my question to you guys is, are there any particular Bantam
titles which are particularly sought after which would be worth more
than the usual three bucks? I'm thinking of just selling them in lots
of five on ebay for 12.50 buy it now, unless someone here has a better
suggestion of how to liquidate a minor collection of old Bantams.

I do hate to part with them, but I'm trying to be less of a pack rat,
plus all the usual reasons for needing to raise some money...

Any input would be appreciated.

No Bantam DOC is worth more than any other Bantam DOC. Most folks
like the earlier ones better, but they went through multiple editions,
so there are more of them.

The edition of a Bantam DOC doesn't matter to collectors, other than
the movie edition of #1, and even it doesn't matter to everybody.. I
think you've hit on the best strategy.

Thanks, Dave.

Going through them just now, it seems like a crime to get rid of
something so cool for so little. But I have to tell myself that
someone else will get some enjoyment out of them.

Well, I went ahead and put the whole thing up on Ebay as one big 49
book lot for $99. I still kept my 10 or so favorite ones and have
started re-reading Land of Always Night.

They may not sell, but after getting them all out and looking at them
again, I won't be too disappointed if no one buys them and I get to
keep them. I also found an old fanzine I had called The Doc Savage
Reader issue 2/3, Spring 1973 that I'm throwing in. Pretty cool
little artifact.

Hey, that's what we THOUGHT the words were,

Mine too

SARGASSO OGRE
QUEST OF QUI
BRAND OF THE WEREWOLF
LAND OF ALWAYS-NIGHT

are my top four, top-of-head ones,
and to make a top 5 I throw in an oddball choice, THE TERROR IN THE
NAVY, it being my first
